Kabar Gemerlap - On October 24, 2026, the Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) witnessed a historic gathering of 68 elementary school girls from across Jakarta Utara, participating in the Festival SenengSoccer Jakarta Jaya. This event, organized by Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation in collaboration with MilkLife, is not merely a celebration of youth sports but a pivotal moment in the broader narrative of women's soccer in Indonesia.
The festival, part of the MilkLife Soccer Challenge Jakarta Jaya Seri 1 for the 2026–2027 season, aims to dismantle long-standing societal prejudices against women in sports. Despite persistent stereotypes that soccer is unsuitable for young girls and lacks future prospects, the event serves as a platform to showcase the potential of female athletes from an early age.
The competition at JIS was both physically and mentally demanding, featuring agility tests, precise ball handling, and penalty shootouts. The pressure was palpable as coaches and parents watched intently, their hearts racing alongside their daughters. Yet, the participants maintained a remarkable composure, embodying the spirit of perseverance.
Among the standout performers was Naufalyn Fikria Rabbani, a seven-year-old from SDN Cipulir 03. Her success, despite training on the hard school floor, highlights the determination of young athletes who overcome resource limitations. Naufalyn's victory with a time of 35.52 seconds underscored the effectiveness of grassroots programs in nurturing talent.
Coach Muhammad Soleh emphasized that Naufalyn's achievements are a testament to the rigorous training and discipline instilled in young athletes, even in modest conditions. The organizers, including Bakti Olahraga Djarum Foundation's Satia Chandra Wiguna, reaffirmed their commitment to creating structured pathways for these girls, ensuring their development beyond the festival.
"Festival SenengSoccer is a gateway for young girls to explore soccer from an early age," said Chandra. "Through structured training and team formation in schools, we aim to prepare them for higher-level competitions like the KU 10 MilkLife Soccer Challenge."
The event marks a significant step in challenging societal norms and fostering a supportive environment for women's soccer. As the festival concludes, it leaves behind a legacy of resilience and hope, signaling a promising future for women's soccer in Indonesia.
